Nonviolence is more than a strategy for social change or a communication technique. It is a demanding way of life deeply rooted in an investigation of what it is to be human that calls forth our highest potential. How can our relationship to ourselves—our thoughts, emotions, sensations and history—help or hinder our vision for social transformation? What tools can we call upon to strengthen our commitment to and embodiment of nonviolence in the world?
This session will explore the inner foundations for a nonviolent way of life, drawing connections between contemplative practice, trauma healing, and interpersonal communication. We’ll delve into the role of compassion, anger, grief, and the power of nonviolence, and offer practical suggestions for transforming pain into resilience.
This event is offered on a gift economy. All donations and proceeds will go to support the East Point Peace Academy.
