This 8-week online course offers training in Oren Jay Sofer’s integrated approach to communication, and is the second part of a three-course, live online training series. (Part III will begin in April 2024). Oren’s approach draws directly from his training in early Buddhism, the work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication, and Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing.
Part II explores skills for clear, open, and honest self-expression, as well as more advanced skills like navigating conversations and handling challenging situations. It is designed to support you to bring the foundational principles and practices of Oren’s book Say What You Mean into your daily life and relationships. This will be the last time Oren teaches this course live; all subsequent versions of this course will be pre-recorded.
With expert guidance from the author, you’ll learn ways to:
Express yourself clearly and directly, leaving room for others’ input
Make powerful requests to move towards creative solutions
Find your ground and recover when activated, upset, or triggered
Develop more fluency with the Nonviolent Communication model
Consolidate your learning for ongoing practice and integration
