How can contemplative practice be a vehicle not just for personal healing but for collective liberation? How can we reclaim our attention, use our energy more wisely, and contribute meaningfully to the call of our times? Join author and Dharma teacher Oren Jay Sofer for this special, in-person daylong session with the Sacramento Buddhist Group, where Oren will offer teachings and practices from his new book, Your Heart Was Made For This: Contemplative Practices to Meet a World in Crisis with Courage, Integrity, and Love.
This is an in-person event only, held in Sacramento. (Originally listed as hybrid; we apologize for the mixup and invite you to join Oren for another online event here.) The session will explore a range of potent qualities essential to the spiritual path and social transformation: wise attention, energy, patience and more. The day will include time for silent practice and reflection, discussion, questions, and will be followed by a book-signing with the author.
All are welcome, no prior experience needed. This event is offered on a sliding scale, with scholarships available. No one turned away for lack of funds.
