We each have the potential to live fulfilling lives, meet the immense challenges of our times, and contribute meaningfully to our world. Join author and Dharma teacher Oren Jay Sofer for this special Sunday afternoon session at CIMC. Oren will offer teachings and practices from his new book, Your Heart Was Made For This: Contemplative Practices to Meet a World in Crisis with Courage, Integrity, and Love.
The session will focus on cultivating two potent, complimentary qualities essential to the spiritual path and social transformation: patience and resolve. What does it mean to be patient in the face of overwhelming threats like climate disruption and oppression? How can we draw on the power of resolve without becoming rigid or striving? The session will include time for reflection, discussion, silent practice, and questions, and will be followed by a book-signing with the author.
All are welcome, no prior experience necessary. This event is offered on a donation basis; those attending will have the opportunity to contribute to CIMC and the teacher at the end of the event.
