Stability, Love and Clarity: Meditation Daylong

During turbulent times, it can be supportive and nourishing to gather in community, and practice settling the heart and mind.

Join Oren for a day of meditation practice with guided meditations, instructions and Q&A. Practices will draw primarily from the early Buddhist tradition, centering on Metta (lovingkindess) and Vipassana (insight) meditation. These techniques help to foster inner stability, clarity of mind, and a strong heart.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time is this event?

Our daylong retreat will be from 9:30am - 3:30 pm PST / 12:30 - 6:30pm EST. Use the time zone converter here to find your local time.

What if I can’t stay the entire time?

You are welcome to participate to the extent that you are able and are invited to come and go quietly as needed.

How will I know where to join the session?

After registering, you will receive an automated receipt confirming your registration. You will then receive another confirmation email from us (within 2-3 business days) with a zoom link and instructions for how to join the session. If you are registering less than 48 hours prior to the event, you will receive a confirmation email with the zoom link within a day or less.

I’m new to this. What can I expect if I register?

Each part of the day will begin with a short teaching and some instructions from Oren. Some of the meditations will be guided, others will be silent. We will begin with shorter periods of meditation (from 15-20 minutes) and increase up to 40-45 minute sessions. The schedule of the day will alternate between teaching, seated meditation practice, walking meditation, and interactive Q&A.

Will there be a break?

Yes, we will take a break for one hour for lunch (or other needs) half way through the day around 12:30pm PT / 3:30pm ET.

Will this event be recorded?

We will record certain portions of the day, including the teachings and guided meditations. These recordings will be made available within one week of the event for those who have registered.

I don’t understand the donation model. Are donations tax-deductible?

You can read more about the Buddhist tradition of Dana here. Donations are not tax deductible. All financial contribution go directly to support Oren’s work, teaching and livelihood.

What if I can’t sit or walk, have chronic pain or other physical limitations?

This daylong retreat is open to all regardless of ability. We will offer modifications for the instructions to suit a range of physical abilities. If you are physically unable to participate in any of the instructions offered, we warmly and humbly invite you to let us know so that we can further adjust them to be more inclusive.

I don’t have a camera or don’t want to be seen. Can I still join?

You are welcome to join with or without a camera. For those who do have a webcam, we encourage you to turn it on at least once during the session in order to help build community, and to explore the relational experience of being seen. There is, however, no requirement to do so.

I can no longer attend. How do I cancel my registration? Can I receive a refund for the donation I made?

If you registered and can’t make it, you can email us to let us know. Since it takes time and costs money to process refunds, we will charge a nominal cancellation fee.

What if I have other questions not answered here?

Please email us if you have additional questions.
